In addition to these, my continuing education includes numerous educational conferences and seminars. Each year I attend some form of professional development courses. This year I attended Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling (LETRS) training. LETRS is a professional program which gives reading teachers deep, structural knowledge of the English language. I have successfully completed all 12 Modules of LETRS training.

I enjoy every subject I teach but am especially interested in Math and Social Studies and enjoy incorporating educational technology into my lessons.

Teaching Philosophy:

All students can learn but  the way students learn best differs from student to student. Some students are visual learners and learn best through visual stimulus. Others are auditory learners and absorb information more readily through listening. Then there are students who need to move and interact with materials in order to learn best (kinesthetic learners). When creating and implementing a lesson, I try to incorporate as many of the modalities of learning as possible. In this way, students are invited to take part in lessons that encourage understanding and growth. The goal is to meet the student where they are, set the learning standard high, and guide the student along the way to meet the high expectations.
